Load Capacity – GTS Friend 2.0
Guidelines for the load capacity of the GTS Friend 2.0 when loaded in the centre of the shank (lever arm 6 cm):
- Vertical: 700 - 1700 kg
- Horizontal: 300 - 700 kg
- Pulling out: 300 - 700 kg
Caution: In softwood (spruce, poplar, etc.), only low load capacity – avoid lateral leverage!
These values are guidelines – the exact load capacity depends heavily on the tree species, lever arm and direction of load!
The load capacity should never be pushed to its limits!

Our friend and helper
The GTS Friend is primarily an auxiliary screw for securing triangles, stairs or strut constructions. It is suitable for light treehouses, small platforms or pedestals in climbing forests.
For higher loads and tree trunks thicker than 35 cm, we recommend the GTS Allstar – it withstands lateral loads and rotational movements much better!
The vertical load capacity is 700 kg in softwood and up to 1,700 kg in hardwood (e.g. maple). Lateral leverage forces should be avoided, especially in softwood, as the screw can only bear low loads in this material.
Proven for over 25 years
Our GTS fastening system is a further development of the American treehouse bolts ‘Garnier Limb’ and ‘Treehouse Attachment Bolt TAB’. It is the most tree-friendly and safest way to fasten a treehouse in the long term.
Even better assembly
The newly developed ‘Tree Thread 2.0’ thread makes installation child's play! Simply pre-drill the hole and screw the screw into the tree with a few powerful turns of a large ratchet. A powerful cordless screwdriver (18V, 4Ah) is all you need for installation.

Example with accessories
This platform in a split tree trunk was anchored with 6 GTS Friends. One trunk is firmly anchored, the other is movable to avoid tension during storms.
The two lower GTS Friends, each with 2 struts, are used to secure the position so that the platform does not tip over.
