Shipping & Delivery
I didn't think that as a layman I would be able to get the treehouse platform to work so well. Vitus and TheTreehouse.Shop come highly recommended!
Really good products and professional service. You can tell they have a lot of experience and know all the pitfalls. Highly recommended.
Dear team, you are the best! Excellent shop! Excellent advice! Excellent quality! We will gladly return and only to you, forever!
The flexible fastening for treehouses or raised stilt treehouses!
With this kit, you can mount a stable wooden triangle to the tree – the perfect base for your platform. Whether completely in the tree or combined with stilts: you decide. The adjustable angle adapts to any tree – whether it's a sloping branch, thick trunk or sloping idea.
How it works – triangle mounting

More angles, more possibilities
The adjustable angle from 60° (pointed) to 120° (open) gives you maximum freedom when building your platform. Whether slanted, straight or somewhere in between – you can easily adapt the triangle to your tree and your ideas.
You can find more information and instructions in Step 9: Support Structures.

Be aware of leverage!
Important note on load capacity:
The GTS Friend is primarily suitable for vertical loads. The lateral load capacity is rather low – especially when mounted in softwood.
For platforms with long overhangs or for greater leverage and rotational forces, we recommend the more stable GTS Allstar.

Tip for crooked trees
It is best to build a jig out of wooden slats to test the position of the triangle in advance. Careful planning is crucial, especially with crooked or sloping tree trunks.
For more leeway during installation, we recommend two GTS Allstar screws – the longer shank provides more leeway.
Successful projects
Our customers love the triangles – because they allow you to realise all your treehouse dreams.
Together with our building instructions, every project is a success.

What is the load capacity of GTS Screws?
GTS Screws are designed for extreme loads of up to 4 tonnes. The exact load capacity depends on the following factors:
- Wood strength of the tree
- Lever arm (distance at which the beam bracket is mounted)
- Load direction and type (static or dynamic)
You can find all the details here: German Treehouse Screw GTS
How do I connect the wooden beams?
For stable connections of the floor joists, we recommend partially threaded screws:
- Up to 160 mm in length: stainless steel screws (ø 6 - 8 mm)
- From 160 mm: galvanised screws (ø 6–10 mm)
Joints can be made smooth. Secure heavily loaded areas additionally with fully threaded screws, angle plates or PU glue.
You will find everything you need to get started in our Wood Screw Pack.
Can I saw off thick branches from the tree?
Small branches are no problem, but you should be more cautious with thick branches. Overall, no more than 5% of the crown volume should be removed at one time.
When building a treehouse, it is often necessary to saw off some branches. However, branches with a diameter of more than 10 cm should only be removed in isolated cases. Make sure you use a sharp saw and a clean cutting technique so as not to put unnecessary strain on the tree. Find out about the correct cutting technique in advance on a tree care portal!
The tree looks unhealthy or old – what should I do?
Sick, weak trees, hollow trunks or trees with fungal infestation are unsuitable for heavy treehouse fastenings – this would be too risky.
It is better to build on stilts so that the tree can age in peace. However, think about how your treehouse will stand if the tree or parts of it fall over in the next few years.

What is the difference between German Treehouse Screw, Garnier Limb & TAB?
Treehouse screws are available from various manufacturers:
- GTS - German Treehouse Screw (TheTreehouse.Shop, Germany)
- Garnier Limb (Michael Garnier, USA)
- TAB - Treehouse Attachment Bolt (Pete Nelson, USA)
The first tree bolts were developed over 25 years ago in the USA. They all work on the same principle, but differ in dimensions, quality, price and product service (know-how, advice).
TheTreehouse.Shop is the only manufacturer in Europe – and the GTS 2.0 is the most advanced tree bolt on the market:
✔ Advanced thread 2.0
✔ Optimised metric dimensions (mm)
✔ Fast spare parts supply
✔ Direct shipping from Germany
Important: The manufacturers' systems are not compatible with each other!
