How can the GTS Screws be reinforced?
The BackUp fits the GTS Screws with a shank diameter of 40 mm:
The GTS Screw can be reinforced directly during installation or later.
You can attach two steel cables to the grooves provided to further reinforce the GTS.
Assembly video & instructions
- Loosen the M30 Hex Nut from the GTS with a strong pull (if it is stuck, tap it firmly with a steel hammer).
- Unscrew the extension and hang the cable in the outer groove.
- Tension the cable and mark the desired position for the GTS Safety.
- Pre-drill the GTS Safety with the auger drill bit (ø 24 mm) and screw it in.
- When fully assembled, tighten the turnbuckle completely!

Who needs BackUp?
With a BackUp, the load capacity of the GTS can be almost doubled. This is necessary in the following cases:
✔ High load on the GTS
✔ Soft wood (poplar, spruce, etc.)
✔ Visible overloading of the GTS (retrofitted)
✔ Public projects (extra safety!)
Easy to assemble
For very high loads, when you are pushing the load capacity of the GTS to its limits, we recommend installing a BackUp right away.
For normal loads within the load capacity of the GTS, simply build your treehouse and wait out the first few storms – if you have any concerns, you can always retrofit at any time!
GTS+ systems
Whether you reinforce your GTS from above or below depends on the space available. We recommend the GTS+ BackUp System from below, as it looks more harmonious, whereas the cable routing of the GTS+ Cable System can sometimes be distracting. Of course, you can also reinforce a GTS with several systems – double is better!
Example: Reinforcement of the GTS Top
In this example, we had to reinforce the GTS Top retrospectively with the ‘GTS+ Cable System’ because we encountered very soft pine wood – now the construction is secure.
