Drill bits for mounting GTS tree bolts

Technical data & dimensions
Final drilling depth for GTS Screws
To ensure that the GTS sits securely, we drill a few millimetres deeper than the actual screw-in depth. This additional clearance is already taken into account in the drilling depths we specify:
Auger drill bit Ø 36 mm:
- GTS Allstar 2.0 (20.0 cm) + Forstner-Pin-Combo (8.0 cm)
- GTS Top 2.0 (17.0 cm); old GTS Top 1.0 (15.0 cm)
- GTS Friend 2.0 (17.0 cm); old GTS Friend 1.0 (14.0 cm)
- GTS Free 2.0 (14.0 cm)
- GTS Side (14.0 cm)
Auger drill bit Ø 24 mm:
- GTS Safety (13.0 cm)
- Strut Connector in End Grain (20 cm)
Important note for softwood (spruce, poplar, etc.)
After the GTS has been screwed completely into the tree, loosen the Hex Nut again to slide the accessories onto the shank. To prevent the GTS from turning backwards in very soft wood, the screw must be tight:
- Grease the Hex Nut thoroughly before screwing in the screw.
- Use PU glue (e.g. Beko 15) inside the drill hole.
- Be careful not to over-tighten the screws when screwing them in.
