* Important: The actual load capacity depends on many factors, e.g. lever arm, load direction or wood strength. Always calculate with a safety factor!
Lateral lever forces on the GTS Free must be avoided, especially in softwood!
A more stable connection between the wooden beams can be achieved with GTS Friend & Beam Brackets.

Assembly instructions & video
To install the GTS Screws, a hole must be pre-drilled in the tree – you can find the appropriate installation tools in our shop.
The beams are pre-drilled with the same 36 mm drill bit, placed on the GTS Free and secured with the enclosed fully threaded screws.

Shipping & Delivery
The treehouse is mainly intended for our 8-year-old son Toni, but is now used by the whole family. Inside, there are two levels, a main room with windows on both sides and a cosy corner above.
I am extremely satisfied with TheTreehousShop. Great delivery service and the material is perfectly made. The tree house has made the fathers and children happy :-)
The treehouse is hidden in the trees so as not to disturb the neighbours, who, incidentally, are very pleased with the result! The children are preparing for their New Year's Eve party in their treehouse, which now also serves as a children's gym with its gymnastic rings.

This tree-friendly kit is ideal for small play platforms, lightweight children's treehouses and first DIY projects on a budget. The triangles can be assembled without additional accessories – simple, safe and straightforward. Recommended for platform sizes up to approx. 15 m².

Application & limitations
The customer's treehouse in this example should have been secured with a more stable set; this is where the GTS Free reaches its limits:
❌ Not suitable for a lot of movement between several trees
❌ Do not use in 3 or 4 trees
❌ Short shank = little play = little room for tree to grow
Solution for thin trees < 30 cm (11.8 in)
To mount two triangles opposite each other with GTS Free, the trunk must be at least 30 cm thick at platform height – otherwise the GTS Screws will collide.
Solution for thinner trees: If the diameter is less than 30 cm, simply install the screws at different heights (see image with GTS Friend).
Be aware of leverage!
Important note: The GTS Free is only suitable for low horizontal loads – especially in softwood. Avoid one-sided loads, lever and twisting movements.
As soon as the trunk is large enough (> 35 cm (13.8 in)), we recommend using larger GTS models!
For larger projects, we recommend our more stable Treehouse Hardware Kits.
This XS kit is only suitable for very thin trees and small loads. If you want to invest a little more and have a larger tree available, you should opt for our larger kits – for greater safety and better tree growth. Alternatively, the treehouse can also be partially attached to the tree and supplemented with wooden supports.

Will my treehouse grow upwards with the tree?
Don't worry, you don't have to extend the ladder to the treehouse every year – your treehouse will always remain at the same height. Trees only grow upwards at the tips of their branches; the trunk grows in width. This growth in thickness (3–15 mm per annual ring) must be taken into account when building the platform!
Crooked tree? Build yourself a test triangle!
Slight inclines of less than 6° are usually not a problem – it is important to keep the lever forces low and align the main load so that the tree cannot tip over.
DIY tip: For crooked trees, build a test triangle out of wooden slats in advance and hold it in the tree – this will allow you to see immediately whether the triangle will fit your tree bolts later on.
Can I also use screws from the hardware store for Treehouse Fastening?
Our practical experience: No!
The screws, threaded rods and bolts available from DIY stores are not suitable for the extreme loads of a treehouse. The frequent alternating loads caused by wind are particularly problematic, as these can lead to fatigue fractures in normal wood screws over time.
In addition, the treehouse construction must be at a distance from the tree so that it can continue to grow in width. The distance and the associated lever forces can only be reliably handled by professional treehouse screws!

Are treehouse building instructions safe?
The internet is full of treehouse instructions and beautiful DIY videos – but be careful! Often, amateurish or tree-damaging attachment methods are shown, which in the worst case can even be dangerous.
