This is where we manufacture our steel parts, pack your parcels and send them out – with a breath of fresh mountain air included, of course ;)

Craftsmanship - The Enlightenment
My first raised stilt treehouse
My first ‘treehouse’ in my parents' garden – six months of enjoyable craftsmanship, with little experience and only a cordless screwdriver and other basic tools. A real DIY project, just like many of my customers are doing now. I lived there all summer – an unforgettable time! And now our own children can let off steam in it :)
World Treehouse Conference 2016, Oregon
Learning from the masters
In 2016, Baumbaron organised a road trip to attend the legendary World Treehouse Conference in the USA. Every year, the best treehouse builders come together here to exchange experiences and new techniques. It was there that I met treehouse legends such as Michael Garnier, Pete Nelson and Tama Jokushima for the first time – pure inspiration!

The brilliant idea
After presenting my bachelor thesis on treehouse screws, I received an unexpected amount of positive feedback from other treehouse builders. This gave me the brilliant idea that still drives me today: to found Europe's first specialist shop for treehouse builders and sell the world's best and safest treehouse fastenings!

I continued to work full-time at Baumbaron, where I learned an incredible amount. In the evenings, I worked on my online shop. For the first two years, we sent everything from the garage of our shared flat – wrapped in old cardboard boxes and newspaper, of course.

Slowly but surely, things started to take off! As demand grew, so did our team: in Nicola and Michi Schubert, I found two fantastic employees who took warehousing, logistics and marketing to the next level – thank you, you are the best!

Family & Children
Not only is the online shop growing, but so is our first baby bump! In 2020 and 2022, my wife Tessa gave me two wonderful children. TheTreehouse.Shop has now become a real institution, with great customers from all over the world. Professionally, I am focusing more and more on the online shop – that way I have more time for family activities!

German Treehouse Screw 2.0
2023 is a big moment for us: we are introducing our new wooden thread and version 2.0 of the tree bolts. After months of testing and development with our metalworkers, we are proud of the result! The GTS 2.0 sets a new standard worldwide and takes treehouse building to a new level!

In 2025, we will present our completely redesigned online shop! It is the result of our hard work, eight years of customer service experience and all the knowledge we have gained over the last few years – we hope you like it! Key moments
It all really started with my bachelor's thesis as a civil engineer at the FHM: ‘Treehouses – Investigation and optimisation of fastening options, taking into account tree statics and tree biology.’
At the same time, I built my first treehouse on stilts – and suddenly it became clear to me: this is more than just a project, it's my passion. I was fascinated by the idea of combining the structure of nature – its simplicity, efficiency and durability – with the art of human engineering. It also reminded me of my childhood spent in nature: the freedom, creativity and playfulness, but also the peace and quiet, far away from everyday life. It's hard to believe that you can do something like this for a living!
That's how I got to know Johannes Schelle and the team at Baumbaron from our neighbouring valley. An encounter turned into friendship – and eventually into training as a carpenter. Johannes taught me the art of treehouse building – and the dream became reality.
Those summer months were magical – somewhere between wood chips and treetops, I realised: I'm not a civil engineer. I'm a treehouse builder. And that's exactly what I want to do with all my heart!

Our motivation
The power of nature
In a treehouse, you are surrounded by nature: the scent of damp leaves, the sounds of the forest, a crackling branch, a bird flying by, the play of light through dancing leaves... When you bathe in the cool, floating forest air between the trunks of centuries-old trees, you soak up the atmosphere, the peace and tranquillity, but also the power.
It is not without reason that trees and forests are an integral part of life in other cultures – in our Western world, in fast-paced urban centres, these natural elements are increasingly being displaced.
Magical places
But many people know it only too well: the longing for nature and freedom, the urge to go out, climb mountains, listen to the sea or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest.
This is where we draw our motivation to build treehouses:
We want to enable people to create places where they feel comfortable and can relax! We want to promote the connection between people and nature! And we love the beaming faces of children and adults who immerse themselves in the world of treehouses!
Building a treehouse = fun and adventure for the whole family!
Just like every person, every tree and every treehouse is unique: there are no official standards or rules, construction is based on feeling and creativity knows no bounds. Whether big or small, a skilled craftsman or a dreamy free spirit, treehouse building allows everyone to let off steam in their own way – a very special family project!
