Load Capacity – GTS Top 2.0
Guidelines for the load capacity of the GTS Top 2.0 when loaded in the centre of the shank (lever arm 11 cm):
- Vertical: 900 - 2100 kg
- Horizontal: 400 - 700 kg
- Pulling out: 400 - 800 kg
These values are guidelines – the exact load capacity depends heavily on the type of tree, lever arm and direction of load!
The GTS Top should mainly be loaded vertically; the load capacity is limited on the sides. The load capacity should never be used to its limits!

Big dreams – small trees
For trees with thin trunks (Ø 30–35 cm), where the larger GTS Allstar would destroy too much tissue, there is now an ingenious solution: GTS Top.
It is as tree-friendly as the smaller GTS Friend, but thanks to its robust bearing plate, it has a significantly higher load capacity: in hardwood (e.g. beech), the screw can bear up to 2,100 kg vertically. In softwood (e.g. spruce), the load capacity is significantly lower at around 900 kg.
Please note: The GTS Top is primarily optimised for vertical loads and should not be subjected to heavy lateral loads, especially in softwood.
Height offset for thin trees
The drill hole for the GTS Top is 17 cm deep. To prevent two opposite screws from touching in the middle, the screws must be mounted with a height offset of 10 - 20 cm on thin trees (ø < 40 cm).
Limit lever arm
Especially in soft woods (spruce, fir, pine, poplar, etc.) and with high loads, it is important to keep the lever arm as short as possible. With Position-Rings, you can limit the play.

Here, the GTS Top had to be additionally reinforced from below: The load is high and the wood is rather soft (pine). To maximise the load capacity of the connection, the Beam Bracket is pushed very close to the tree (low lever arm).
