Installation
Please follow our installation instructions exactly – this is the only way to ensure a permanently secure fastening!
You need the fully threaded screws to reinforce your wooden beam in the area of the hole! You do not need an extra support if the load is low!
Both the hole for the coarse thread in the tree and the hole in the support beam are pre-drilled with a ø 36mm Auger Bit.
With the GTS Free, the wooden beam is inherently close to the tree – If strong thickness growth (tree) is to be expected, we recommend using a larger Tree Screw with Support and Distance Rings.
Assembly:
Note, drilling directly through the timber beam is a weak point – reinforce your timber beam:
- The wooden beam must have a minimum dimension of 120 × 60 mm (160 × 80 mm is better!).
- The drill hole (centre) must be about 2/5 of the height of the beam at the bottom (e.g., at (120 mm / 5) x 2 = 48 mm from the bottom).
- Reinforce the wood about 2 cm next to the drill hole with the 4 fully threaded screws supplied.
- If necessary, reinforce the wood with a sheet metal plate or a stable DIY construction.
